How Long Does Office Furniture Take to Arrive?
Lead times depend on the product type, finish selection, and manufacturer production schedules. The biggest surprises usually come from custom finishes, large workstation orders, or power-integrated conference tables.
Typical lead times (general expectations)
- Task chairs: 2–8 weeks
- Sit-stand desks: 3–10 weeks
- Workstations/cubicles: 6–14+ weeks (especially large runs)
- Conference tables: 6–12+ weeks (power/finishes can add time)
- Soft seating (reception/lobby): 6–14+ weeks

It depends on what you're buying. Quick-ship task chairs and desks: 1–3 weeks. Standard made-to-order seating and desks: 4–8 weeks. Workstations and cubicle systems: 6–14 weeks. Conference tables with power: 6–12 weeks. Soft seating and lounge: 6–14 weeks. If you have a move-in date, tell us first — we'll work backward from there.
Yes. Most major manufacturers have quick-ship programs with a limited selection of standard configurations and finishes. These are a good option when timelines are tight. The tradeoff is less flexibility on color, size, and configuration. We'll flag quick-ship options when timeline is your constraint.
For a standard build-out with made-to-order product, order 10–12 weeks before your move-in date. For large projects with workstation systems, conference tables, or custom finishes, 14–16 weeks is safer. If you're closer to move-in than that, we'll tell you what's realistic — we don't overpromise on timelines.
Significantly. Task chairs are often the fastest. Workstation systems and conference tables with integrated power are almost always the longest. The finish you choose matters too — standard laminates ship faster than custom veneers or specialty fabrics.
Custom finishes, large order volumes, manufacturer backlog, freight delays, and changes made after an order is placed. The most common delay we see is a finish change at week three of a ten-week order. COM fabric can also delay orders based on if it's in-stock and the manufacturer has tested it. If it hasn't been tested it could add another 4-8wks. Lock in your specs early.
